JAMMU, Mar 1: Vijay Saqi, Assistant Director Radio Kashmir, Srinagar, breathed his last at Medanta, Gurgoan in Haryana after a prolonged illness, this afternoon. He was 55.
Son of a veteran scholar and Kashmiri encyclopedia, Moti Lal Saqi, Vijay Saqi was a journalist, a good broadcaster and poet.
His cremation will take place at New Delhi tomorrow. He is survived by his mother, wife and two sons. Various organizations and art lovers have expressed their shock and grief over his demise at a prime age. They include J&K Media Art Association, president, P N Pandita, social activist and PDP leader Nana Ji Raina, Displaced Employees Forum chief M K Tickoo and employees of Prasar Bharti, Srinagar and Jammu.
