Vigilance team raids DMO office, crusher at Ravi bank

KATHUA, Oct 8: A Vigilance team again conducted surprise inspection in the office of District Mineral Officer Kathua and a crusher at the bank of river Ravi near Maggar Khud (Tajwal) and seized record.
Official sources said that on the directions of the State High Court and some specific complaints, the Vigilance team from Jammu comprising, Kamal Sangra and Rajnesh Slathia moved to the office of DMO Kathua the other day and then along with officials from the Pollution Control Board led by Bharat Choudhary, AEE PDD Bharat Bhushan, conducted raid at the stone crusher of Punjab based parties, Surinder Singh Manhas and Chander Mohan Mahajan. The team seized the record from the stone crusher and also gave two days time to the owners to produce entire record needed by the Vigilance office Jammu.
It was alleged that this stone crusher was operating illegally for the last many months and no action was taken by the concerned authorities (District Administration Kathua, G&M and SPCB) against them despite court orders and several complaints.
It was the follow up action of the Vigilance team after extensive raid at stone crushers along Ravi river in Kathua and local G&M office on October 1, 2018.
