JAMMU, June 13: Vigilance Organization Jammu today produced challan against the then Sr Assistant, posted in Tehsil Office Thathri, district Doda, who was caught red handed while demanding and accepting bribe in April 2017.
Challan against Mohd. Mushtaq Zargar of village Bhalla, tehsil Bhaderwah, was presented before the Court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption Doda, in case FIR No.14/2017 P/S VOJ u/s 5(1) (d) r/w 5(2) J&K PC Act Svt.2006 & Section 4-A J&K P.C Act (Amendment Act-2014).
The accused was caught red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 1500 from the complainant Shabir Ahmed Butt of Thathri for issuing state subjects in respect of his four children in Tehsil office Thathri.
The accused had demanded Rs.2000 as illegal gratification from to the complainant who provided him Rs.500 as advance. However, the accused Sr Assistant insisted for providing the remaining bribe amount of Rs 1500 even as the complainant expressed his inability for paying the same in view of poverty. As the accused Sr Assistant refused to issue the needed documents, the complainant approached the Vigilance Organization which laid a successful trap and caught him red handed while demanding and accepting the illegal gratification of Rs 1500 from the complainant.
After completion of the investigation, the case was processed for obtaining necessary Government sanction U/S 6 of J&K PC Act.Svt.2006. After obtaining the sanction from the competent authority, the challan of the case was produced against the said accused Mohd. Mushtaq Zargar. Next date of hearing in the case has been fixed for 21.06.2018.
