JAMMU, Apr 4: The Vigilance Organization Jammu today produced challan against then Sub-Officer (M) in the office of Fire & Emergency Services, Jammu Range, who was caught red handed while demanding and accepting bribe.
Challan in case FIR No: 27/2014, against accused public servant Hira Lal Pandita, resident of Flat No 23, Building No.103, Migrant Camp-Jagti Nagrota, Jammu, was produced in the Court of Special Judge Anti-corruption Court Jammu.
The accused had demanded a bribe of Rs 17000 from the complainant Rakesh Singh of Mandi Kotli Samba, for issuance of NOC to get permission of storage and sale of fire crackers.
Acting on a written complaint in this regard on 16.10.2014, the Vigilance Organization laid a trap in which the accused Sub Officer (M) was caught red handed while demanding and accepting a bribe amount of Rs 17,000/- from the complainant, in presence of independent witnesses.
The investigation of the case was concluded as proved and after obtaining sanction from the Government for launching prosecution against the accused person, the challan of the case was produced today.
The next date of the case has been fixed on April 30, 2016.
