SRINAGAR, July 24: The Vigilance Organization Kashmir today produced challan against then Block Forest Officer Keller, Ghulam Hassan Reshi, who was caught red handed while accepting bribe.
The challan was produced under Section 5(1) r/w 5(2) of J&K Prevention of Corruption Act, Samvat 2006 in the Court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption, Srinagar.
As per the case, Mr Reshi was caught red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 1000 from the complainant who had lodged a report with the Vigilance Organization that the former was demanding money for furnishing report on his application for issuance of timber for construction of his residential house.
The accused was arrested and bribe amount was recovered from his possession.
After the Vigilance produced challan today, the court fixed September 9, 2013 as the next date of hearing.
