JAMMU, Dec 8: State Vigilance Organization (SVO) today registered case against Satish Khajuria, Chief Enforcement Officer (CEO) and other officials of the Jammu Municipal Corporation besides one Shabnam Choudhary under Prevention of Corruption Act.
The verification conducted into the allegations of issuance of building permission in violation of the Master Plan by the officers/officials of Jammu Municipal Corporation revealed that the officers/officials of JMC conspired with owner of Plot No 821-A Gandhi Nagar namely Shabnam Choudhary, wife of Saleem Mohd and by abusing their official position granted building permission in violation of Master Plan. In this way, the accused officials conferred wrongful gain to the applicant.
It also came to light during verification that applicant Shabnam Choudhary applied for building permission for construction of her residential house. Instead of seeking permission for covering two plots 821-A & 820-A (partially), she applied for permission in respect of Plot 821-A only, which was approved in violation of norms by JMC thereby allowing the applicant to raise the construction of the building despite 100% violation regarding set-backs.
Chief Khilafwarzi Officer, Satish Khajuria maintained criminal silence on the violation and allowed the applicant to construct the basement in violation of the approved plan. Moreover, the plan approved by the JMC was not in conformity with the Master Plan of JMC. It was also found that Chief Khilafwarzi Officer started taking action in terms of document to cover his misconduct.
Vigilance has registered case under Section 5(2) J&K PC Act and Section 120-B against the Chief Enforcement Officer and other officials of the Municipal Corporation besides Shabnam Chowdhary and the investigation has been entrusted to Inspector Zaffer Amin.
