Victim seeks action against Cong leader

JAMMU, Apr 1: A victim, who was severally beaten by a Congress leader, has sought action against the leader.
Addressing a press conference, Manpreet Singh, son of Harjeet Singh, a resident Bakshi Nagar alleged that Congress leader Surinder Singh Shingari and Malvinder Singh, both allegedly assaulted him in the police station Bakshi Nagar few days back.
He added that the Congress leader is harassing him for the past several years and no action has been taken against him.
Singh demanded inquiry into the matter.
When contacted, SHO Bakshi Nagar Inspector Ashwani Sharma said that on March 29, both–SS Shingari and the victim parties approached him over some old issue and later clashed with each other. Acting swiftly, police arrested six persons on the spot including Shingari and the victim, he said, adding that all the arrested persons were bailed out by the court.
Investigation into the case is going on, SHO maintained.
