hUBBALLI: Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu today called for making it mandatory for imparting skill among the school children and Educational Institutions should be developed as Skill Development Centers.
Speaking after inaugurating Residential Skill Development Center of Deshpande Foundation here today, he said that at present not enough attention was given for skill development and there is urgent need for revisiting National Education Policy to make it compulsory for imparting skill to school students.
There was a need to introduce vocational education in the curriculum to create an ecosystem that produces skilled manpower, he observed. (AGENCIES)
