Vice-Chairmen of JKPCC, J&K Cements call on Governor

SRINAGAR, June 2: Khalid Jehangir, Vice-Chairman, J&K Projects Construction Corporation Ltd (JKPCC) called on Governor N.N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here today.
Jehangir briefed the Governor about the functioning of the Corporation and the steps being taken to supply customers with innovative and cost-efficient construction products and services which meet their needs as well as providing them the required supporting infrastructure.
Governor advised Jehangir to take effective action for ensuring transparency and accountability in the functioning of the Corporation, besides strict adherence to agreed cost and time schedules.
While efficiently discharging their mandated role, Governor observed, it is important for Public Sector Units to also remain socially relevant and responsible.

Yattoo informed the Governor about the initiatives being taken for making J&K Cements a profitable enterprise and for generating employment to qualified youth.
Governor advised Yatoo to ensure that the company closely adheres to the prescribed quality of the product, maintains its production capacity and the management must never be found wanting in regard to complete transparency and accountability of its functioning.
The company must also enhance its productivity to increasingly meet the cement requirements of J&K. Governor asked the Vice-Chairman to acquaint himself with the CAG’s Reports on the functioning of this Public Sector Unit and initiate time bound measures to rectify all aberrations.
