JAMMU, Jan 15: A function was organized by Jai Baba Kali Veer Shiv Mohalla Sansthan Chatha under the leadership of Sudesh Singh on the eve of Makar Sankranti near here, today to distribute the shawls and eatables among poor and needy people. Vice Chairman JAKFED Munish Sharma was the chief guest while, Sheikh Zahoor Ahmad president, Muslim Welfare Committee and Priya Singh BJP leader were the guests of honour. Vice Chairman distributed shawls and other eatable items to the distressed people of all ages.
While addressing the gathering, JAKFED Vice Chairman highly applauded and appreciated the Shiv Mohalla Chatha, Mahant Sudesh Singh for taking this noble initiative to reach out the poor and needy people among all section of communities. He said that without public participation Government alone cannot meet the requirements of the needy persons. Sharma also made the people aware about the various schemes being run by the present Government and asked them to avail benefits.
Zahoor Ahmad & Priya Singh, also spoke on the occasion and said that helping the needy was equal to worshipping of God and every section of the community should also come forward to devote for this noble cause.
Vice Chairman further held public grievances camp at Chatha wherein a large number of people participated. They put forth their problems and demands like ignoring the repair of roads, sanitation, water, power supply, etc by the authorities. Responding to the issues, raised by the people, Vice Chairman assured them that he would take-up the matter with the concerned for early redressal.
Among others, who were present on the occasion included G.S Thakur. president Mohalla Welfare Committee, Sanjeev Parihar, Vikram Singh Shan Rajeev Sharma etc.
