RAJOURI, May 26: BJP senior leader and MLC Vibodh Gupta visited Gulabgarh and listened to the public grievances.
MLC on his visit to Gulabgarh, personally investigated the situation and expressed deep concern over the absence of basic requirements of life such as water and electricity.
In his address, Gupta also expressed anguish against the past Governments and legislators of the area as they ignored the strategically important village of Gulabgarh and failed to provide the minimum standard of living to the people of the area. He said that BJP Government under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi is committed to providing equal development to all regions of the country and as a part of Soubhagya Scheme, the Gulabgarh village will be electrified soon. The name of Gulabgarh village is already listed among the village to be electrified, he added.
On the occasion, Gupta said that upliftment of poor, marginalised and weaker sections of the society are top priority of the Government.
Women of the village told MLC that their children could not bath for many days as they have to travel miles to have water. Listening to them, he assured that water will soon reach their village.
“Gulabgarh village is also important from historical viewpoint. The presence of fort constructed by Gulab Singh in the village is of great importance and is a part and parcel of Dogra legacy”, he said and promised to interact with the Archaeological Department, asking them to visit Gulabgarh as this area also has great tourism potential.
MLC also apprised people about poor-friendly and village-friendly schemes launched by BJP Government.
