JAMMU, May 21: The Jammu & Kashmir Awami Mutahida Mahaz (JKAMM) in its post poll meeting held here today deliberated on various issues especially the political situation emerging post Lok Sabha elections in the State.
The meeting, which was attended by Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami, Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen, Abdul Rashid Kabuli and Abdul Rehman Tukroo, termed the just concluded Lok Sabha election results in the State as a wakeup call for all political parties of Jammu and Kashmir and opined that need of the hour is to shun conventional political approach about issues confronting people on the ground.
During the meeting the stress was laid on need to have a broader mass movement to-get-rid of rampant corruption, injustice with educated unemployed youth, misgovernance and administrative inertia in the State.
It was felt by the leaders that misgovernance, rampant corruption, inflation and sky rocketing prices and rising unemployment had created a choking atmosphere for people which has compelled them to look for alternatives.
Besides stressing on the unity of all the regions of Jammu and Kashmir the AMM leaders urged for restoration of economic and cultural unity among the people across the LoC in order to have a long lasting political stability in the State.
The meeting reiterated that every family, whether it is living below or above the poverty line, should be given 35 kg of food grain every month at the rate of Rs 2 per kg. It also asserted for streamlining the rationing system with the introduction of unified ration cards.
