MUMBAI: Actress Priyanka Chopra’s debut production, Marathi film “Ventilator” was screened at the 18th Jio MAMI Mumbai International Film Festival.

The movie has been helmed by “Ferrari ki Sawari” director Rajesh Mapuskar.

It stars Ashutosh Gowariker, Sukanya Kulkarni, Jitendra Joshi, Sulabha Arya and Boman Irani.

Though Priyanka wasn’t present at the premiere as she is busy shooting for “Quantico” in the US, her mother Madhu Chopra made up for her absence.

Madhu said Priyanka always wanted to promote regional cinema.

“We are going on city tours. I hope it has a pan India release on November 4. We are planning to release it worldwide. That’s why the subtitles were in English so that everyone can enjoy the film. We are also getting invitations from festivals,” she said.

Ashutosh revealed that the team will show the film to Priyanka soon in New York.

The movie revolves around an ailing senior member of a family who is being put on the ventilator just days before the popular Ganpati festival leading to varied degrees of speculation and panic amongst the clan he belongs to.

Priyanka’s Purple Pebble Pictures also has a Bhojpuri and Punjabi movie in the pipeline. (AGENCIES)
