Vehicles lifting gang busted; 9 arrested with 20 stolen two wheelers

JAMMU, Nov 17: Bishnah Police busted vehicles lifting gang with the arrest of 9 thieves and recovery of 20 stolen two wheelers.
This was informed by Superintendent of Police (SP) Headquarters Jammu Aadil Hamid while interacting with media persons here today.
Divulging the details, SP said that on specific information, a team from Bishnah Police Station laid a naka at Deoli and during checking, a motorcycle rider identified as Ashwani Kumar, son of Madan Lal of Deoli was asked to show the registration certificate of the vehicle. Ashwani Kumar produced the RC and an affidavit of sale and purchase for the said vehicle.
“After confirmation and cross checking the paper produced by Ashwani Kumar turned out fake and subsequently a case under FIR Number 176/2020 under Sections 379, 420, 467, 468 and 120-B IPC was registered at Police Station Bishnah and Ashwani Kumar was arrested.
“During the course of investigation, a special team from Police Station Bishnah swung into action and by collaborating the technical and human intelligence succeeded in rounding up two more accused identified as Deepak Kumar, son of Yashpaul of Tanada and Vimal Kumar, son of Tara Chand of Chak Waizru”, SP said, adding that on further investigation, the team arrested 6 more persons, raising the total tally to 9.
The six more arrested persons were identified as Joginder Kumar, son of Mulkh Raj of Deoli, Bishnah, Arjun Dass, son of Thoru Ram of Marhoal Tehsil Arnia, Shashi Kumar, son of Jagan Nath of village Jinder Khurd, Bishnah, Rakesh Kumar, son of Mulkh Raj of Gharana Tehsil Chakru, Sikander Kumar, son of Chajju Ram of Village Kool, Arnia and Pawan Kumar, son of Manna Ram of Village Chowala Kothey, RS Pura.
“On their disclosures, 20 stolen two wheelers were recovered”, SP Headquarters Jammu Aadil Hamid said, adding that police is also looking for the affidavit maker who was also hand in glove with this gang.
The whole operation was conducted by SHO Bishnah Inspector Tahir Yousaf under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Shabir Khan, SP Headquarters Jammu Aadil Hamid and SSP Jammu Shridhar Patil.
