JAMMU, Oct 17: Janipur Police busted vehicles lifting gang with the arrest of three persons and recovery of 9 stolen motorcycles from their possession.
As per police sources, two complaints regarding motorcycle theft were lodged by Jaspal Singh, son of Jang Bhadur Singh of Nanak Nagar Jammu and Vikram Bali, son of Ramesh Bali of Lower Roop Nagar Janipur Jammu.
Acting over the complaints, cases under FIR Numbers 49/2020 and 72/2020 under section 379 IPC were registered at Police Station Janipur.
During the course of investigation, special team led by SHO Janipur Inspector Gurmeet Singh by using all the possible means like mobile tracking and camera recording of all the routes of Janipur arrested three vehicle lifters.
The arrested persons were identified as Tufail Hussain alias Karroo alias Sajjad, son of Mohammad Sharief of Ganjote Mahore District Reasi, Fayaz Ahmed alias Sunny, son of Ghulam Nabi of Upper Roop Nagar District Jammu and Shakeel Ahmed alias Reyan, son of Ali Mohammad of Bunjwaa District Kishtwar, at present Ramzanpura Janipur District Jammu.
On their disclosure, 2 motorcycles mentioned in the aforesaid FIRs along with 7 other motorcycles were also recovered.
Further questioning of the arrested persons is going on to ascertain their involvement in other theft cases.
