RAMBAN, June 2: Police here today attached the vehicle worth approximately Rs. 30 lakh under the provisions of Section 107 of BNSS.
The action was taken during investigation of FIR No. 248/2025, registered at Police Station Ramban under Section 223 of BNS and Section 11 of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
During investigation, it was established that the accused had allegedly amassed assets through proceeds generated from bovine smuggling, theft and other unlawful activities.
Further investigation revealed that the vehicle owned by the accused had been acquired using proceeds of crime linked to bovine smuggling and theft.
On the basis of evidence collected during investigation, Ramban Police approached the competent court and obtained attachment orders under the relevant provisions of law. Accordingly, in compliance with the court orders and in the presence of Tehsildar Ramban, the vehicle bearing registration number JK02CB-5411 owned by Nazir Hussain, son of Sher Mohammad, resident of Degwar, Tehsil Haveli, District Poonch was formally attached.
