Vehicle lifter arrested, stolen bike recovered

JAMMU, Aug 20: Bishnah police arrested a vehicle lifter and recovered stolen motorcycle from his possession.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged by one Ashwani Kumar, son of Ramesh Kumar of Gandli Arnia with police station Bishnah stating that he had came to Bishnah to attend the function of his relative and parked his bike bearing registration number JKO2AU-3145 in front of his relative’s house. “When I came back in the evening from the house of my relative, I found that my motorcycle has been stolen by some unknown persons”, the complainant said.
Acting over the written complaint, a case under FIR Number 182/17 under Section 379 RPC was registered at Bishnah police station and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, police picked up several suspects, out of them one of the person broke down and confessed that he had stolen the motorcycle.
The arrested, person has been identified as Devinder Kumar, Prem Pal, a resident of Ward Number 6, Bishnah. On his disclosure, the stolen motorcycle has been recovered.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain his involvement in other theft cases.
Police team led by SHO Bishnah Inspector PP Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Surinder Choudhary and SP Headquarters Jammu RC Kotwal.
