JAMMU, Sept 25: Gangyal police arrested a vehicle lifter and recovered 9 stolen motorcycles and 1 scooty.
As per police sources, on September 17 this year, a complaint was lodged by Amrik Singh, son of Hardev Singh of Raipur Satwari regarding theft of his motorcycle.
Acting over the complaint, a case under relevant sections was registered at Gangyal Police Station and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team from Gangyal Police Station rounded up several suspects and finally arrested the thief, who was identified as Rajinder Singh alias Mangu, son of Varinder Singh of Ward Number 1, Simbal Camp Jammu.
On his disclosure, police team recovered 10 stolen vehicles including 9 motorcycles and 1 scooty.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain his involvement in other theft cases.
Police team led by SHO Gangyal Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia along with PSI Birbhan Singh Charak made the arrest under the supervision of SP South Vinay Sharma and SSP Jammu Tejinder Singh.
