Veeri reviews progress under PMGSY

JAMMU, Oct 12: Minister for Public Works and Parliamentary Affairs, Abdul Rehman Veeri today took detailed review of the progress under PMGSY for Jammu division.
The Minister said that a comprehensive   plan of action has been prepared for Phase 10 of the PMGSY and all concerned officials need to gear up for its successful execution and completion in the State.
The Phase-10 with a sanctioned cost of Rs. 1997.77 crore includes new connectivity/upgradation projects of 2639.89 Km road and 26 bridges covering 1084.50 metre.
During the meeting, a detailed report was also taken on the progress and achievements of Phase I-IX.
The Minister expressed satisfaction on the pace of work being undertaken across Jammu province under these phases and said that with the successful implementation of PMGSY, a very positive transformation will be visible in the State. This will lead to strengthening  the road networks across the State, he added.
Taking note of concerns like forest clearances, land acquisition, land compensation, he assured that these issues will be taken up  with the concerned departments and every effort will be made to resolve them at the earliest.
Veeri impressed upon the officers to expedite the ongoing projects under PMGSY so that the same would be completed within stipulated time frame.
Commissioner Secretary R&B Rohit Kansal, Chief Engineer PMGSY P.L. Bhushan Chief Engineer R&B Jammu Alok Mengi besides all concerned Superintending Engineers and Executive Engineers from Jammu Division were present in the meeting.
