Veeri inaugurates Rs 132 cr pedestrian bridge near JVC

SRINAGAR: Minister for Public Works and Parliamentary Affairs, Abdul Rehman Veeri, today inaugurated single span overhead Pedestrian Steel Bridge on Srinagar-Baramulla highway near JVC Bemina here.

          The overhead bridge, constructed at a cost of Rs 1.32 crore, offers a much-needed pedestrian access from across the National Highway to the JVC Hospital.

          On the occasion, the Minister interacted with the people who demanded for additional passage onto the bridge connecting it to the adjoining locality. The Minister gave patient hearing to the locals and assured them that their demands would be taken on priority.

          Later, the Minister visited under-construction Maternity & Pediatric Hospital at Bemina and took stock of the ongoing work. He was informed that 500-bedded hospital being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 70.63 crore would be completed within stipulated time frame.

          The Minister directed the concerned to expedite the work so that people of the nearby areas are benefitted, besides rush to city hospitals is reduced.

MLA Batamaloo, Noor Mohammad Sheikh, Chief Engineer, Public Works (R&B), Kashmir, Abdul Hamid Sheikh, and other concerned were accompanying the Minister during the visit.
