Addressing a mammoth public rally here, Chug said that it was with the dedication and selfless service of VDCs that calm prevails in the erstwhile Doda district today where terrorists created a lot of devastation and destruction during nineties. He said the VDC members deserve all credit for their efforts in maintaining peace and amity in this hilly belt.
Taking a dig at neighboring Pakistan which has been hell bent in creating disturbances in J&K right from 1989-90, the BJP senior leader said Pak wanted to create a communal divide in the districts of Doda and Kishtwar forcing Hindus and Muslims to clash with each other. But their designs were thwarted by VDCs and it is because of their sacrifices that terrorism has been weeded out from this hilly region.
Chug said that people in erstwhile Doda district faced poverty and terrorism and they suffered a lot for the years together. The marriage parties were attacked even the children and old people were not spared by the terrorists. But it was with the firm resolve of the VDCs whose role is no less than the jawans of security forces which defeated the Pak designs, he added.
Chug, while acknowledging the role and service of VDCs, however regretted that their issue could not be settled for a long time. Criticising the officers, he accused them of sitting over the files of VDCs for years together and even this time they tried to create hurdles. The BJP leader, however, gave all credit to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi in sorting out their issue.
Lambasting National Conference (NC) and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leadership of developing extraordinary love for Pakistan who are strongly advocating for holding dialogue with the neighboring country, Chug said both NC president, Dr Farooq Abdullah and PDP chief, Mehbooba Mufti should ask Pak Premier Imran Khan whether Modi has 56 inch chest or not. “Pakistan tasted the heat of Indian security forces fully after India made airstrikes twice in that country and smashed terrorist camps in PoJK,” he added.
He said that present Government at Delhi led by Narendra Modi has adopted strong policy. “We will hit Pak inside its land as we have done earlier”, he added.
While ridiculing the Farooq Abdullah’s earlier statement that if Narendra Modi will take three births he could not abrogate Articles 370 and 35 A, Chug said that that PM Modi annulled it in first birth.
He alleged that NC and PDP are dividing people while BJP is uniting them. “We give pen and computers in the hands of children and they provide AK -47 to them. This is the basic difference between the BJP and them,” he added.
The BJP national general secretary said that people need stones for development such as constructing roads, canals, houses, Government buildings etc and they don’t need them for pelting on police or security forces.
Chug said development does not take place by mere slogans but it is possible with the strong will of leadership. The Narendra Modi Government is committed to development of J&K and it has taken many steps in this regard.
He said under the able guidance of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, Jammu and Kashmir is shaping new paradigms of development,.
BJP national general secretary and J&K BJP president, Ravinder Raina accompanied by party vice-president, Shakti Parihar, party general secretary, Sunil Sharma senior leaders Devender Singh Rana, Baldev Singh Billawaria and others were addressing the massive public meeting of BJP in district Doda.
Tarun Chugh, enumerated various development works initiated by the Modi Government in district Doda and said that under the leadership of Prime Minister, Jammu and Kashmir is shaping new paradigms of development. He said that the Modi Government has prioritized the development projects related to Jammu and Kashmir and in no time whole of J&K will witness world-class infrastructure with modern technology in every field. He said that special emphasis has been laid upon developing the previously underdeveloped areas especially the far flung and the hilly areas with difficult terrain.
Ravinder Raina lambasted the previous Governments of NC, Congress, PDP of misappropriating the funds meant for development of these regions and simultaneously deliberately ignoring the prominent communities from their rights. He said that now under the Modi Government all communities have been strengthened empathetically socially, economically and politically. He also spoke on the specific projects and policies of Modi Government that have provided benefits to the locals.
Shakti Parihar congratulated the party workers and their families for the success of their dedicated work and contribution in the growth of the party in the remotest of the region.
Sunil Sharma said that today BJP has become the first choice of masses owing to the dedicated work by the party workers at the ground level under the guidance of PM Modi.
Devender Rana said that only BJP can fulfill the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir while keeping the national interests on priority.
