JAMMU, Feb 13: The Village Defence Committee (VDC) SPOs here today staged a protest demonstration and raised demands.
The protesters were demanding that wages of VDC SPOs should not deducted to pay wages to VDC heads and members and the government order in this regard needs to be rectified.
“If our demand is not conceded in J&K then we will move to New Delhi and meet concerned officers and ministers in Home Department,” they said.
They informed that it was earlier declared by the Home Department that wages of VDC heads will be Rs. 4500 and that of VDC members Rs. 4000.
The protesters said that VDC SPOs are also performing duties of a regular cop in police stations and at other places.
