DODA, July 18: A Village Defence Committee (VDC) member allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his VDC gun at his residence in Luddu Kansar area, falling under the jurisdiction of Gandoh Police Station, a police official said.
The deceased has been identified as Baljeet Ray (60), son of late Thakur Lal, a resident of Luddu Kansar.
After completing legal formalities, the body of the deceased has been handed over to legal heirs for last rites.
Gandoh police has taken cognizance in this regards.
