VCT for instant implementation of CCS for border sufferers

JAMMU, Aug 31: Viklang Chhatra Trust (VCT) Old Care Society, an NGO working Statewide for the cause and care of the handicapped, has demanded instant implementation of Central Compensation Scheme (CCS) for border sufferers of the State.
In a letter addressed to the Union Minister of Home Affairs, the organizer of VCT, Satya Pal Saraf said that this decision would go a long way in mitigating the sufferings of many families who had lost their kin in border shelling or rendered incapacitated for lifelong in the absence of such Central scheme to compensate their irreparable losses.
The Union Cabinet  have recently given its approval to enhance the compensation under the ‘Central Scheme for Assistance to civilian victims of Terrorist, Communal, Left Wing Extremist (LWE), Cross Border Firing and Mine or Improvised Explosive Devices blasts on Indian Territory from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 5 lakh.
