JAMMU, Dec 23: Dr. Khurshid Andrabi, Vice-Chancellor, Kashmir University (KU), called on Governor, N.N. Vohra, Chancellor, University of Kashmir, here at the Raj Bhavan today.
Dr. Andrabi briefed the Governor about various important matters relating to the functioning of the Kashmir University and its off- site campuses. The Governor and the Vice-Chancellor discussed several important issues relating to the filling up of faculty positions and agreed that certain basic questions would need to be taken up with the University Grants Commission. The Vice-Chancellor also informed the Governor about the important activities planned in the next several months.
Dr. Tej Pratap, Vice Chancellor, Sher-i-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology-Kashmir also called on Governor Mr. Vohra.
Dr. Pratap briefed the Governor about several ongoing research projects for livestock development, the to-date status in regard to the establishment of new Krishi Vigyan Kendras and the efforts being made by the existing KVKs to transfer new technologies to farmers for improving agricultural productivity in the Kashmir and Ladakh regions.
Dr. Pratap also briefed the Governor about various important matters relating to the on-going academic and co-curricular activities and other administrative issues in the University
The Governor urged Dr. Pratap to work for continuous upgrading of academic and co-curricular standards in the University.
