JAMMU, Feb 26: Vice Chairperson, National Commission for Safai Karamcharies, Anjana Panwar presently on visit of Jammu and Kashmir, today chaired a meeting of senior officers of different deptts to take stock of various welfare of safai Karamcharies of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
She took stock of various initiatives/activities undertaken by the various departments for the welfare of the Safai Karamcharies and directed all the departments to strictly adhere to the guidelines of Goverment of India and Commissioner for the welfare of Safai Karamcharies.
The VC also interacted with the representatives of various Safai Karamcharies Associations and listened to their problems and ensured them that their issues will be addressed.
She took comprehensive details about working of JMC and other Municipal Committees and working status of employees in these institutions. The Commissioner SMC Jammu also briefed here about the present status of working and steps being taken for welfare of safai Karamcharies.
The VC directed the Commissioner SMC Jammu to take necessary steps for fulfillment the demands of Safai Karamcharies in the Corporation and other committees like fulfillment of vacant posts, so that they could free from extra work burden and it will also help to provide jobs to other youths of the community.
The VC also directed the health authorities to provide proper health check up of the safai Karamcharies during holding the health camps by the Health department, so they stay live healthy and away from any disease.
The VC said that left out I card should be issued in favour of Safai Karamcharies and She also directed that to provide uniform alongwith shoes, rain coats on season basis.
She directed the concerned officers to provide group Insurance cover and Ayushman Health Card to all Safai Karamcharies those not cover so far, so that they can take benefit from these schemes.
The VC issued instructions to MD SC, ST & BC Corporation to organise awarenwess camps in their basis for giving awareness to them regarding loans particularly education loans.
She also instructed Chief Education Officer Jammu and police department for fulfilling the vacant posts of Safai Karamcharies and creation of fresh posts in their departments.
Among others, Commissioner SMC Jammu, Rahul Yadav, ADC Jammu, Chief Medical Officer, Managing Director, SC, ST & BC Corporation senior officers of police and other concerned departments attended the meeting.
