VC Ladakh University calls on CEC Kargil

Admissions for different courses begin from Dec 25

KARGIL, Dec 16: Vice Chancellor of the University of Ladakh, C Phunsog, called on the Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan at the Council Secretariat Kargil here today.
During the course of meeting, various issues with regard to the present status of the functioning of the Ladakh University and other related issues were discussed threadbare.
Registrar Ladakh University, Imteeaz Kacho, Controller Examinations Prof Deskyong Namgyal and other concerned officers were also present in the meeting. The taking over of the campuses of the Kashmir University in Ladakh including the Off Site Satellite Campus at Kurbathang by the University of Ladakh also came up for discussion.
The Vice Chancellor, while informing the CEC about the starting of various courses by the University in its affiliated colleges and various campuses at Leh and Kargil during the upcoming academic season, said that the process of admission for various courses is scheduled to begin from December 25, 2019, detailed information about which would follow in due course of time.
The CEC, while expressing satisfaction on the headway achieved so far in the process of the establishment of the University in Ladakh, hoped that under the dynamic supervision of C Phunsog the University of Ladakh will emerge as a premier institution on the educational map of the country.
Feroz Khan also took up the matter for granting of a Degree College at Sankoo which was agreed by the former Governor of the erstwhile State of Jammu and Kashmir Satya Pal Malik. He urged the VC to pursue the case with the concerned authorities for early sanction of the college so that a large number of students from the Suru Valley may not have to suffer for the cause of higher education. The VC Ladakh University sought cooperation from the LAHDC Kargil in its future endeavors.
Meanwhile, the Vice Chancellor in the company of the CEC, LAHDC Kargil, took a round of the Hill Council Secretariat Building to get an idea for constructing the Administrative Headquarters of the University of Ladakh. The CEC assured the Vice Chancellor all possible support from the LAHDC Kargil for establishment of the University.
