VC JDA inspects ongoing construction works

JAMMU, Aug 27: In order to check the quality and speed of ongoing developmental works, the Vice Chairman JDA Rajesh Kumar Shavan inspected the construction work of park at Rajinder Nagar colony and Gole Gujral colony.
As per the handout, the JDA is developing a modern park at Rajinder Nagar at the cost of Rs 33 lakh which will include turfing, benches, sheds, flower beds and plantation of aesthetic plants.
Vice Chairman was accompanied by Superintending Engineer, JDA, Executive Engineer AEE and concerned staff.
During the visit in Rajinder Nagar colony, the local residents met and apprised the Vice Chairman JDA about their other demands pertaining to the colony. The Vice Chairman JDA gave patient hearing and assured necessary action.
A Chinar tree sapling was also planted in the park by Vice Chairman JDA provided by Bishan Dass, DFO who took personal initiative to provide some tree saplings to the JDA for their plantation in area.
Vice Chairman JDA has instructed the JDA officials to map all vacant JDA lands around nallahs and khads so that plantation can be made to improve the environment and check encroachments.
During visit to Gole Gujral colony, the Vice Chairman issued strict instructions to the engineering wing to hand over possession of 48 plots within two weeks after proper development.
It is important to mention that the issue of Gole Gujral colony is pending for last three years where people have failed to get possession despite paying premium. It is due to some disputes that JDA has failed to construct the colony. However the Vice Chairman has taken certain initiatives to resolve the issue and sought public cooperation in this regard.
