JAMMU, Dec, 16: Vice Chairman, JAKFED, Munish Sharma today inspected JAKFED Godowns in Miran Sahib & Gas Unit at R. S Pura. During the day long tour Sharma took a detailed review of the activities carried out by JAKFED in R.S. Pura region and visited the two godowns, one Rice Sheller, one cold storage along with ice factory and one chilly plant and also looked at the work of LPG Gas units that have been achieved under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana in RS Pura.
Sharma was apprised by the Department officials, that the Godowns are lying vacant for the last more than two decades at Miran Sahib. Expressing his deep concern over the pathetic condition of the Godowns which are presently non-functional and lying vacant for the last so many years and deteriorating day by day Vice Chairman directed the officials to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) aiming at restoring the godowns at the earliest so that these valuable assets may be put into effective use for generating more profit and income.
Officials also briefed Sharma about a detailed performance of gas units in the R. S Pura and said that so far around 1000 new LPG connections have been released to BPL households under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana in 2016-17.
Vice Chairman further asked the officials to provide the maximum benefits to women belonging to Below Poverty Line (BPL) under the ambitious project initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana” (PMYY) so that BPL families could get benefit of gas connection by 2019. He asked the officials to take these schemes of smoke free rural India to the genuine beneficiaries in fair & transparent manner.
He further directed the concerned officers to ensure 100 percent home delivery of LPG in the rural areas of R.S Pura so that common people would not suffer. Vice Chairman also visited gas godown and expressed concern over the dilapidated condition of godown and issued on spot directions for the repair and renovation works.
