JAMMU, June 3: The Central University of Jammu today inaugurated the new building of the Maharishi Aurobindo Library at Chanakya Bhawan.
The inauguration was carried out by the Vice Chancellor, Prof Sanjeev Jain, in the presence of Deans, Directors, Heads of Departments, faculty members, University officials, and staff of the library.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Sanjeev Jain highlighted the pivotal role of the library in strengthening teaching, learning, and research activities at the University. He stated that the Maharishi Aurobindo Library provides 24×7 remote access to its digital resources, enabling scholars, students, and faculty members to access academic content anytime and from anywhere.
The Vice Chancellor informed that an E-Library facility will soon be operational in the library, further enhancing digital learning opportunities for the university community. He emphasized that the newly inaugurated library is equipped with modern facilities and a rich collection of academic resources. The library currently houses more than 18,000 books under the Book Bank Scheme, over 2,000 books related to the Indian Knowledge System (IKS), around 1,500 e-books, and access to more than one lakh e-journals from nearly 30 publishers through the One Nation One Subscription (ONOS) initiative.
