JAMMU, Aug 18: While describing the revocation of Articles 370 and 35-A in the Jammu and Kashmir as bold initiative of the BJP Govt led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, All India Vedic Brahman Kalyan Prishad (VBKP) today pleaded for Uniform Civil Code in the country.
National president of the VBKP, Subhash Kaushik in a press statement issued today, termed this decision of the Prime Minister as historic and daring and said that for such initiatives a strong will, determination, conviction and deep sense of patriotism is needed. It is true to describe Article 370 as miscarriage of the history and Modi has undone the past blunders committed by the previous regimes. The withdrawal of special status granted to the J&K state is also a welcome step and people must realize that country is now in ‘safe hands’.
While hoping for the early restoration of normalcy in the entire Jammu and Kashmir, Kaushik said that after bringing J&K under one flag and one constitution, the accession of J&K with the Union of India can now be termed as `full and final’. He said with revocation of Art 370, J&K would certainly witness massive industrialization, peace and progress.
Kaushik demanded that there should be Uniform Civil Code in the country and all the citizens must be treated equally. There should not be any special concession to anybody on the basis of religion. The Modi Govt should take another bold initiate to control population in the country as with population explosion, the resources of the country are shrinking very fast.
The VBKP national president further demanded that construction of Shri Ram Ji temple at Ayodhya is the commitment of BJP and they also included it in the election manifesto. Therefore, the Party must honour its commitment to the people of the country. Kaushik said that the time has come to take control of the Pak occupied Jammu and Kashmir which was grabbed by the Pakistani raiders during 1947 and could not be re-captured due to the historic blunder committed by the then Prime Minister, Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru, who announced unilateral ceasefire just to benefit `Abdullahs of Kashmir ‘ despite the fact that Indian forces were advancing with full might.
