JAMMU, Feb 23: Mohalla Committee Vasuki Vihar Gurah Barnai in its meeting today has appealed the Government to ensure the release of relief and ration before the Maha Shivratri falling on March 6.
The meeting which was chaired by president of the Union M L Koul has made an appeal to Chief Secretary B R Sharma in this regard. It demanded that migrants be given five kgs of sugar on control rates on Maha Shivratri besides 20 kgs of rice apart from their own quota of 20 kgs on the festival. It also demanded that essential commodities like walnuts, flowers and vegetables be made available and arrangements for supply of drinking water for two times with round the clock electricity supply be made.
