JAMMU, Feb 2: Various social and political organizations here today staged protest demonstration and torched the effigy of Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor (VC) of Central University of Jammu (CUJ) and demanded his removal after Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) initiated inquiry into financial irregularities in the varsity done by the VC during last five years.
The protesters said that ouster of the VC will ensure fair probe by ACB.
Among protesting organizations were JKNPP, Ambedkar Yuvaa Sangathan and Bhim Army.
The ACB probe was started after a complaint by Rajesh Pargotra about financial irregularities allegedly by the VC.
Satish Viddrohi, General Secretary, Ambedkar Yuvaa Sangathan told reporters that CUJ has become an epitome of corruption in J&K.
Among others who participated in the protest were Rakesh Verma, Parshotam Sharma, Karam Chand, D.R Sharma, Mohd. Sarwar, Mohd. Peeran Ditta, Ragubir Singh Bagal, Rakesh Langeh, Raj Mohd, Khudha Baksh, Sachin Jamwal, Bansi Lal and others.
