JAMMU, Sept 26: Various organizations including Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) continued to extend their support to the flood victims of Jammu and Kashmir.
Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police in collaboration with Haryana based social organization Dera Sacha Sauda Sirsa distributed relief material among 800 families of village Tengan, 300 families of Puhroo, 60 families of Saidapora, 497 families of Shalina and 246 families of Samarbugh village located in Chadoora tehsil. The relief material distributed among the flood victims included rice, flour, cereals, sugar, lipton tea, turmeric powder, chili powder, mustard oil, drinking water bottles, blankets, pressure cookers and other utensils. A mobile medical camp was also organised in these villages, wherein the doctors of Shah Satnamji Hospital including Dr Aditya Insan, Dr Lokesh, Dr Sagar, Dr Shiv and paramedical staff of J&K Police Hospital Zewan rendered their services.
Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) dispatched consignment of 400 bags of rice and 400 bags of wheat for distribution among the needy people through Ahmad and Harish Khan Charitable Trust, Srinagar. Annil Suri, president, BBIA said that industrial fraternity always stands with the people of J&K in the present need of the hour and assured to contribute more relief material for this noble cause.
Ex-Servicemen Cell of BJP, Jammu has taken out a relief operation in Halqa Panchayat “Upper Gharota” with State vice-president Col Uttam Singh, Sub Major and BJP Ex-Servicemen Cell Co-Convener BS Jasrotia, Nb Sub and Sarpanch Attar Singh, Ravi Kumar Sharma, Sardari Lal and Balbir Panch, where in items like rice, atta, blankets, clothes and biscuits were distributed among the flood victims.
Jammu Police in the aftermath of flood took up rehabilitation work in Channi Himmat area. The road leading to temple in Trikuta Nagar Extension was cleared of garbage. The land of the temple was also cleared of mud, which had accumulated due to flood. The main nallah was also cleared of mud and wild growth. It is pertinent to mention that the said nallah was blocked due to floods and as a result the water had entered into the houses of people living in low lying areas and 25 Juggiwalas were saved by the Jammu Police. Government Primary School Bilal Colony Channi Rama was cleared by the Police in a special cleanness drive to remove the material which was accumulated during recent heavy rain and flood.
Police team from Police Post Phallian Mandal under the supervision of SHO Satwari Inspector Suhail Rashid along with DPL team led by Inspector Karan Chalotra cleared the debris and other material in Government Middle School Sardara Chak and through the road culvert at Gosian Chak.
RS Pura police along with specially constituted teams from DPL continued its relief and rehabilitation operations in Badyal Brahmana, and Kadyal of RS Pura Police Station, Salehar and adjoining areas in Arnia Police Station, Partap Singh Pura and Wazira Chak in Bishnah Police Station. After cleaning the flood affected schools and houses, residents were helped in maintenance of their areas. The people were also made aware about the precaution for maintenance of sanitary and hygienic conditions in the vicinity.
Domana Police under the guidance of SDPO Domana Sanjay Parihar and specially constituted team from DPL today continued its cleanliness operation in Sandwan and Thoob areas. After cleaning the flood affected houses, residence were helped in shifting the household items inside. The outer areas were also got cleaned for hygienic environment so that the chances of outbreak of any disease are minimized.
Nagrota Police under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Khalik Choudhary assisted by DPL special police team removed mud from the remaining classrooms of Government Middle School, Sitni Bye Pass Nagrota and made all the classrooms functional.
BJP senior leader, Vikram Singh Randhawa today distributed relief items including blankets and tents among the people at Rati Sarari area of Gandhi Nagar Constituency.
Students of Cooperative Public High School Ambphalla today donated packed confectionary items for flood victims. A group of students handed over a consignment of packed confectionary items to Chairman Red Cross Society, Suresh Sharma in the presence of Administrator, Cooperative Schools, Mukesh Thappa.
Army relief team comprising of one officer, two JCOs and thirteen other ranks from Udhampur Army Garrison visited village Kusuri and distributed relief material including ration, eatables, blankets, drinking water among the flood victims of Sadal village. These families have been shifted to safer place and provided shelter at Kusuri village after their houses were damaged in the landslide at village Sadal.
