Various leaders visit border areas

JAMMU, Aug 24: Various political leaders have expressed grave concern over continuous shelling from across the border which resulted into the loss of human lives, cattle and property.
NPP supremo Prof Bhim Singh who visited along with his team to border belt in R S Pura late last evening and met dozens of affected people there who have taken refuge in schools and other public places after being forced to leave their homes has appealed both India and Pakistan to stop the firing on borders in the interests of humanity. He accused the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for provoking Pakistan for this criminal act. He said Mr Modi’s challenge to Pakistan during his speech in Leh last week calling it a coward State for internal sabotage has been the cause of the shelling.
Prof Singh said the new Government should learn the art of international diplomacy and avoid any military confrontation with India’s neighbors particularly Pakistan. He also blamed Pakistan Army to create a situation in Pakistan so that the Nawaz Sharief Government is thrown out.
Prof Singh was accompanied by H C Jalmeria, Ms Anita Thakur, S Paramjeet Singh Marshall and Ashok Randawa.
PDP leader Vikramaditya has also expressed his grave concern over shelling from across the border present hostile situation on International border due to continuous shelling from across. He also lambasted the State Government for not providing relief to the affected families in the border belt and alleged that the State Government was adopting causal approach in this regard.
Bar Association president M K Bhardwaj also interacted with the affected border people who have taken shelter at safer area after shelling from across border, said that it was duty of Central and State Governments to provide security and shelter to border residents and it is shameful that nothing has been done in this regard.
