SRINAGAR, June 25: Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Law and Justice Abdul Haq today gave the status report on 14 roads in Gool while responding to a calling attention notice by Ajaz Ahmad Khan.
The Minister said Gool to Deeda (stage-I) road having a length of 9.30 Kms has been restored. He said 72% of the work has been completed and further work for the construction of the road is, however, held-up due to land related issues. Sanction has also been accorded for stage-II under PMGSY (phase-VIII) which is under tendering stage. He said, however, no response has been received despite repeated tenders.
The Minister said that 55% construction work of Gool-Gaggar Sulla road has been completed. He however, said the progress of the work was hampered due to heavy landslides, sinking zones, besides land acquisition and structures falling in the alignment. He said the road is proposed for restoration under the current financial year.
The Minister said that 91% of construction work of Dalwah- Mahkund road known as “Kenthamore to Mahakund road,” has been completed. He however said the further progress of the road got affected due to land acquisition/ removal of structures. He said the work is resumed and likely to be completed in August 2016 as the road has been restored by way of providing motor-path up to 4.00 Km out of 4.50 Km.
The Minister said that Gool- Jabbar road known as Perthulla to Tungli Jabber road is sanctioned under PMGSY (Phase-VI) for Stage-I and has been completed for fair-weather status in October 2013. He said the scheme has also been sanctioned under phase-VIII for stage-ll which is under tendering process.
The Minister said that Jaman-Gagra road has been sanctioned under PMGSY phase V for stage-I and 75% work of the road has been completed. He said the contractor has asked for foreclosure of the contract and the same is being considered for termination/foreclosure as per the merits of the case for which a committee has been constituted and balance works will be accordingly put to tenders. He said the road has been restored by way of providing motor-path up to 6.00 Km out of 8.00 Km (constructed length).
The Minister said that the Movelhote Sangalkundi to Sarote road stands sanctioned under PMGSY (phase-VII) for stage-I and 75% of the work has been completed. He said the scheme was held up due to minor damage but the work has been resumed by way of providing motor-path up to 8.00 Km out of 10.00 Km (constructed length) by deploying men /machinery.
