JAMMU, Apr 22: Various institutions celebrated Earth Day with great enthusiasm and fervour, here today.
MV International School celebrated ‘World Earth Day’ today with great enthusiasm. A special programme was organized by the Maestros House. The programme raised awareness about the importance of saving all natural resources and planning for a bright future.
The students displayed a short skit on the importance of saving earth and all its elements.
Govt. Degree College Udhampur celebrated the Earth Day with pomp and show today. In this connection plants saplings of various types were planted by the NSS volunteers and NCC cadets in the presence of Principal of the college Prof. S.S Bhalwal, Dr. Udhey Bhanu and Prof Suresh Kumar Dogra, NSS programme officers and Prof. Kamal Kishore, NCC Officer.
Rich Harvest School Bari Brahmana celebrated Earth Day with pomp and show today.
On this occasion, a special assembly was held in the school where students and especially members of the Eco Club discussed the importance of the environment and how they could preserve it. A pledge to protect it was taken by the students. Special Earth day badges were distributed to students and teachers.
Delhi Public School, SMVDU, Katra conducted a special assembly on the Earth day followed by various programmes including Quiz competition, Debate, Poems and a Skit to express the necessity to spread awareness about the challenges faced by the Mother Earth. Vandana Sharma, Headmistress of the school addressed the students urging them to adopt small steps on regular basis to protect our earth for the future.
Nav Adarsh Hr. Sec. School celebrated World Earth Day with the objective to make the next generation more sensitive towards the environment. The students were shown slides on nature conservation in a power point presentation. Banners and colourful charts were put up, reading “Go Green” and “Plant a tree today”.
Mother’s Pride & Joy celebrated Earth Day as part of appreciation & affection for Mother Earth besides bringing awareness amongst children about the serious problems that the planet Earth is facing due to various environmental hazards and making generation next environmental conscious from the very beginning.
Today in the premises of Stephens International Public School, Miran Sahib, the Earth Day was celebrated with pomp and show. On this occasion special assembly was presented by Class X. It was celebrated with speeches, poster-making competitions and slogan writing competitions.
Jammu Sanskriti School Kathua celebrated Earth Day in their school by organizing poster making competition amongst the students and then these students along with the posters went for a rally throughout the city saying the slogans like “Save Earth” “Grow more trees” “Keep your earth clean” and many more to make the people aware of the value of our earth.
Doon International School celebrated Earth Day with great zeal and energy. The students presented a vibrant and kindling programme to spread awareness about the need for a cleaner and greener Earth. A special programme was presented by the Kindergarten students. Chairman, G N Tantray applauded the efforts of the students, while Principal, Vikesh Kaur also spoke on the occasion.
The Department of Geography Govt. Degree College Bhaderwah organized “World Earth Day” with enthusiasm and fervour today. The students of the subject and the faculty members were present in the seminar. The seminar was inaugurated by the Principal of the College.
“Earth Day“ was celebrated by the students of KC Gurukul School with great gusto today. To mark this day various activities like cleanliness drive around the School premises ,poster making Competition, Slogan Writing, creativity out of waste, sapling plantation & speeches on the topic “save earth” save of the environment “were under taken by the four houses namely Rani Lakshmi Bai, Subash Chander Bose, Swami Vivekanand and Rabinder Nath Tagore.
Brig KBMP Hr Sec School celebrated Earth Day with pomp and show here today. Students participated in various events including Painting competition and Debate. Prizes were distributed among the students for their excellent performances, presentation of their skills and thought to protect earth. Principal, SK Ali delivered lecture on the occasion.
Aadarsh Bhartiya Samaj a Social Volunteer Organisation working to promote education, environment and nationhood among the general masses and students community in particular celebrated ‘World Earth Day’ under the able guidance of Col (Retd) R K Sharma, Chairman and S Daljeet Singh, president ABS at Bhour Camp Jammu with the message ‘Save Earth Save Humanity’. Members spread the message and lesson of Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Restore and Replenish.
