Valley traders ask PDP to come clean over VHP statement

Srinagar, Sept 19: Angered over Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) statement of starving people’s of Kashmir valley over beef ban, the trade community here today asked the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to come clean over the matter and urged Jammu traders not to fall prey to divisive elements.
Addressing a press conference here, Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA) chairman Mohammad Yasin castigated VHP over economic blockade threat to valley. Khan asked the ruling PDP, which is in alliance with Bhartiya Janata Party in state, to clear its position over the matter.
Appealing the trade community of Jammu not to fall prey to elements like VHP, he said: “Our counter-parts in Jammu need to uphold the brotherhood and they should publicly distance themselves from these kinds of elements and threatening statements.”
The KEA president was flanked by other trade amalgams including Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industries (KCCI).
