Valley shivers

SRINAGAR, Nov 16: Gulmarg in North Kashmir today received fresh snowfall even as Valley continued to shiver after recording snow and rains in higher reaches and plains respectively.
The Gulmarg tourist destination received intermittent snowfall throughout the day and one inch snow had accumulated till evening in the meadows. The snow accumulation was much higher in upper reaches of Gulmarg like Afarwat. Due to fresh snowfall, intense cold has gripped Kashmir valley and night                  temperature has plunged by several notches.
According to Meteorological Department, maximum temperature in summer capital Srinagar was recorded 13.0 degree Celsius while night temperature settled at 1.1 degree Celsius.  Qazigund recorded 11.6 degree Celsius maximum temperature while minimum temperature was 0.6 degree Celsius. Pahalgam recorded 10.8 degree Celsius day temperature and night temperature settled at 0.7 degree Celsius. The MeT official said maximum temperature in Gulmarg was recorded 4.0 degree Celsius while the night temperature settled at -4.5 degree Celsius.
Kokernag in south Kashmir recorded 9.1 degree Celsius maximum temperature and 0.5 degree Celsius minimum temperature. The day temperature in Kupwara settled at 14.6 degree Celsius while the minimum temperature was 0.1 degree Celsius. Leh recorded 12.1 degree Celsius maximum temperature while the minimum temperature remained -5.9 degree Celsius. The day temperature in Kargil settled at 6.8 degree Celsius while the minimum temperature remained -5.2 degree Celsius.
