SRINAGAR, Apr 7: Senior Vice President J&K Peoples Conference and former Minister Abdul Gani Vakil has demanded the release of the salaries of Daily Wagers, Casual Labourers, Aanganwari Workers and Helpers, CIC Operators, and other temporary workers of the UT of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Eid festival is just a few days away, and these employees are expecting the Government to release salaries in advance. Therefore, on this most important occasion, UT Admin should release the pending wages of these employees so that they could manage Eid expenses and celebrate the festival with all joy and happiness,” he said in a statement.
Vakil said the daily wagers are working hard day and night serving the people and making the departments functional, but still, it is unfortunate that these people have been left in the lurch. Although it is the responsibility of the administration to help these poor people restore their lives and livelihoods, especially those who make their ends meet on their daily earnings, he added.
