SRINAGAR, July 22: President Jammu Kashmir Bachao Tehreek and former Minister, Abdul Gani Vakil today said that if the allegations of former Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti against NIA are true, then it is a big exposure of New Delhi, which must be taken seriously.
Addressing party Working Committee members here at Tulsi Bagh, Vakil, according to a statement issued here said that if Mehbooba means what she has said that her MLAs are being “coerced and threatened” to leave the party with NIA raids, it means that during her tenure she knew NIA was being misused”. She would know then that Government of India was using this NIA tool as political vendetta against others. It is a big exposure of GoI and this should be taken seriously, he added.
He said if this is being done against mainstream parties what should be expected for others,” Vakil said. He reiterated that New Delhi should engage both Pakistan and Hurriyat for result oriented dialogue. “Pakistan and Hurriyat should be engaged to restore peace in Kashmir,” Vakil added.
He said when the situation improves a bit in Kashmir, the Centre starts avoiding talking about Kashmir. “The Home Minister has himself publicly announced to talk with Hurriyat, why it is being delayed now,” Vakil added. Terming dynasty rule of two “families who share power in rotation” as the root cause of Kashmir issue, Vakil reiterated that both NC and PDP exploited, befooled and cheated innocent masses of the State  the way it suited them and both these parties forgot and drifted from their so called core ideologies for the sake of power.
Asking people to recall exploitation at the hands of NC and PDP for cheap political gains, Vakil appealed all to not to become victim of so called “Autonomy or Self Rule” politics again. He said for the lust of power NC never raised its voice or resisted humiliating rejection of Autonomy report by the NDA Government during Vajpayee’s tenure but it preferred to remain silent for the fear of losing power.
Vakil asked people to come forward to stop the rise of dynasty politics and family rule propagated and implemented by Muftis and Abdullahs. “The struggle of his party Jammu Kashmir Bachao Tehreek against the dynasty politics and family rule of both Muftis and Abdullahs in the State,” he said.
Besides others who addressed the gathering include general secretary and Ex. MLC Syed Rafiq Shah, chief spokesperson Hakim Parvaiz, youth secretary, Rizwan Illahi, Ghulam Hassan Lone, Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh, and several district and block  office bearers.
