JAMMU, Dec 17: President of Jammu Kashmir Bachao Tehreek and former Minister, Abdul Gani Vakil today exhorted people to forge unity to join his party’s fight against dynasty politics and family rule propagated and implemented in PDP and National Conference by the families of late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, late Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah and now by Mehbooba Mufti respectively.
Reacting on the decision of PDP president Mehbooba Mufti’s expected nomination of her brother Tassaduq Mufti to the Legislative Council, Vakil said the seat of the Legislative Council vacated by the resignation of Vikramaditya Singh should have been offered to any intellectual, social worker, scientist or cultural personality of great repute or even if a political functionary was to be offered this Council seat scores of genuine political workers were better suited than Tassaduq Mufti. Vakil said Tassaduq Mufti a non entity in politics was in no way affiliated to politics till last year and has been imposed on dozens of those PDP leaders who have been tirelessly working for the promotion of the electoral politics for the last two decades.
Hitting out at both Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and National Conference president Farooq Abdullah for imposing their political heirs on their party cadres against wishes of the people, Vakil said Farooq Abdullah brought Omar Abdullah from a non political background to politics and imposed him on very senior leaders of the State and now Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has bought her bother Tassaduq Mufti from a non political background to politics and imposed him on senior leaders of her party who have been dumped and are facing political suffocation within the party.
Hitting out at BJP for being a part to the decision of imposing Tassaduq Mufti, Vakil said BJP’s commitment to fight against the dynasty politics has been exposed with half a dozen ministers of the party endorsing the PDP’s decision on nomination of Tassaduq to Legislative Council.
Asking people to come forward to stop the rise of dynasty politics and family rule propagated and implemented by Muftis and Abdullahs, Vakil asked people to join the struggle of his party “Jammu Kashmir Bachao Tehreek” against dynasty politics in the State.
