JAMMU, Feb 23: Former Minister and member AICC Abdul Gani Vakil said that the sanctioning of five new medical colleges and two cancer hospitals for the J&K by Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Ghulam Nabi Azad will not only revitalize the health care facilities in State, but will also give a fillip to its financial status.
Vakil was addressing a large public gathering at Dangiwacha Rafiabad today.
He said Omar Abdullah has shown his commitment in respect of Administration and Bureaucracy only either intentionally or unintentionally.
Vakil said that Chief Minister must clear his stand with regard to corruption cases of politicians which are biting dust in various anticorruption agencies and are not inching forward for disposal, for the reasons known to everyone.
He urged Omar Abdullah to bring to logical conclusion each and every case of alleged corruption pending against politicians and refrain from adopting selective approach.
“Corruption undoubtedly flourishes from top level and we cannot expect prudence and honesty from a clerk unless politicians become role model for everyone”, he added.
Vakil reiterated his demand of keeping away all corrupt and tainted leaders and Ministers from the party without any inordinate delay till they are absolved of all the allegations by investigating agencies, courts or anti corruption bodies otherwise Congress will have to face people’s wrath in coming elections.
He appealed Congress High Command not to surrender all Parliamentary seats in Kashmir Valley because it is going to prove disastrous for Congress.
“Act of surrendering party’s representation in Parliament election will be a historical blunder and a step towards demoralizing the party rank and file”, he added.
Among others, who spoke were senior Congress leaders Ghulam Nabi Shah, Mohammad Afzal Khan, Brij Nath Nehru, Tariq Ahmad Mir and several others.
