Vaishno Devi Sangharsh Samiti defers strike till Dec 31

KATRA, Dec 18: Protesting the move against battery car service, the labourers including pithoos, ponywalas and traders, today deferred their strike till December 31.
The protesters and traders under the banner of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Sangharsh Samiti were protesting for the past more than one week against the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board claiming that they are going to make battery car service operational from the newly constructed track from Katra to Bhawan.
“Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Sangharsh Samiti Katra has called off their strike till December 31 due to bad health of its chairman,” sources here said. They said that the Samiti will decide their further course of action after December 31.
The labourers including ponywalas, pithus and palkiwalas will resume their services as per routine to Vaishno Devi pilgrims.
Meanwhile, Labourer Union members Sohan Chand and Mahesh Murti has been discharged from the GMC Jammu.
District Administration Reasi on December 16 had also imposed Section 144 of CrPC in the town.
