JAMMU, Feb 13: As a part of Bharat Darshan tours, organised by Jammu and Kashmir Police under its Civic Action Programme, a group of 61 girl students of different districts of Jammu and Kashmir provinces was flagged off by Additional Director General of Police (Headquarters), S. P. Vaid here today.
The 12 days tour would include site seeing at Jammu, visit to historical places at Delhi, Chennai, Mysore and Bang-alore, sports , cultural activities and interaction with prominent personalities.
Mr. Vaid, on the occasion, said that the students during their tour would have interactions with President of India, Union Ministers, Members of Parl-iament, bureaucrats, eminent sports person and artists. They would visit Besant Nagar Beach, Marina Beach, Mahaballipuram Panch Padava Raths, Chamundi Hills, Mysore Lake Zoo, The Lal Bagh Cubbon Park,Vidhana Soudha, Bangalore Palace, Tipu Sultan Palace, Raj Ghat, Jamia Masjid, Red Fort, Hymayun Tomb, Qutub Minar, Raj Path and India Gate.
Mr. Vaid advised the touring students to avail opportunity and gain knowledge about the multi religion and multi culture of the nation which would enhance their educational capacities in future.
Earlier, Commandant IRP 15th (Mahila Battalion) Anita Sharma informed that the group would be accompanied by SP Savita Parihar and Dy. SP Shivender Singh, besides two other officers and one lady official, who is having medical aid practice. Memories of the tour would be covered by the photographer accompanying the tour, she said.
On the occasion, the students presented a colourful cultural bonanza on the themes of patriotism .
Among others, the function was attended by IGPs, AK Choudhary, HK Lohia, Yoginder Koul, Danish Ran, SL Sharma and MA Ganai, DIG, Alok Kumar, AIGPs, Dr. M. Haseeb Mughal, Sheikh Junaid Mehmood, Tahir Sajad, Kulbir Singh and Sheikh Zulfikar Azad, SSPs, Vijay Kumar, Mubashir Latafi, Rajinder Kumar, Yasin Kitchloo, Sunil Kumar Rath, Roop Raj, SPs, Mubashir Ahmed Bukhari, Atul Kumar, Narish Singh and other police officers.
