Vadilal to increase sales in J&K

JAMMU, Apr 17: India’s second largest ice cream company, Vadilal Industries Ltd, has made aggressive plans to increase its sales in Jammu & Kashmir by over four times to around Rs 10 crore in the coming year. Company is already the number one player by volumes in Uttar Pradesh and is amongst the top ice cream players in NCR, Punjab and the northern belt.
Vadilal will penetrate deep into J&K, including regions like Srinagar, Anantnag, Baramulla, Pattan, Bandipora, Ganderbal and Shopian. Vadilal Industries will focus on offering consumers of J&K its premium brands like Badabite, Flingo, Gourmet and the Ice-Trooper range for kids as well as its mass market range like cones, candies, bars, ice-lollies, small cups, big cups, family packs, and economy packs so as to offer something for all tastes, preferences and budgets.
Commenting on company’s plans for J&K, Devanshu Gandhi, Managing Director of Vadilal Industries Ltd said, “Jammu and Kashmir is a major untapped market for Vadilal and that is why we are now increasing our reach here in a big way. We are adding around 20 new distributors in the state to the 5 existing ones and our retail outlets reach will also increase 4-5 folds. Our aim is to increase Vadilal’s sales multi-fold in J&K to Rs 8-10 crore in a year from now.”
