JAMMU, May 9: Former Union Minister, Prof Saifuddin Soz has suggested the UT administration and social organizations to come together to fight with Coronavirus and provided support to poor sections of the society during these difficult times.
“Dr David Nabaroo, representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) for the fight against the COVID-19, seems to have rightly alerted the world, especially, India that the people would have to live with the dangerous Coronavirus before a vaccine has been found which will be unlikely available before 12 to 18 months from now,” Soz said.
He said so, the way out is through a series of methods to improve social and personal hygiene. “The J&K could readily accept Kerela as the role model where the virus is almost getting ‘Non-Existent’. It has just a dozen cases to handle,” he added and suggested that people must accept the social distancing and other methods of hygiene to remain safe.
The former Minister said, meanwhile, the Union Territory administration must invite representatives of all social organizations in J&K for a thorough discussion on how to fight Coronavirus and how best to reach the poor and down-trodden people which has been rendered unemployed.
Soz proposed that the J&K Muslim Auqaf Trust and J&K Auqaf-e-Islamia should extend support to the J&K Government to serve the society better and on its part, the Government must seek the support of the two organizations to reach the needy, in a better way.
