SRINAGAR, Dec 7: The Central University of Kashmir (CUK) Chancellor, Dr Srikumar Banerjee today asked the varsity faculty members to use their personal rapport with multinational companies and other institutions across the country in facilitating the placement of the pass out students in addition to the central placement cell.
Dr Banerjee said this during an interaction with the CUK faculty at its Nowgam Academic block.
CUK Chancellor asked the faculty to participate in the development of the varsity on all fronts and sought suggestions from the faculty. He desired that University fraternity should work hard to take the university to a global level.
He hailed the faculty and the administrative staff for their strenuous efforts in re-starting the academic and administrative activities after the flood hit all the three academic/administrative blocks and two hostel blocks of the University in September.
Earlier, CUK officiating Vice-Chancellor, Prof Mehraj-ud-Din gave a brief report about the functioning of the University. He said that despite floods, the University teaching academic staff has been able to complete students’ syllabi and the examination of the students would be held as per the schedule. “This has been made possible only by using the vacations and converting the off days to working days.”
The Chancellor also released, Samanbal, the newsletter of the department of Convergent Journalism. Registrar, Prof M Afzal Zargar proposed the vote of thanks.
Deans of various Schools, Heads and Coordinators of different departments, all teaching staff, and senior administrative officials were present on the occasion.
