JAMMU, Dec 7: An Annual General Body Meeting of Jammu and Kashmir Olympic Association (JKOA) was held, under the chairmanship of S Rangil Singh its president today at Association’s Office, 41-B, Karan Nagar Extension, here.
Besides office bearers of JKOA, 19 State Sports Associations affiliated to it attended the meeting.
Apart from passing of the minutes of the last meeting, adoption of the secretary general report, passing of the accounts of the 2011-12, 2012-13, the members had a threadbare discussion on the participation of the State contingents in the 35th National Games to be held at Kerala from January 31 to February 15, 2015.
Prof Ashutosh Sharma, general secretary of the Association informed the house that till now confirmation of 9 disciplines have been received from National Sports Federations/Association, which included Archery, Athletics, Fencing, Gymnastics, Shooting, Triathlon, Water Sports, Wrestling and Wushu.
President was authorized to constitute a committee of 5 members for making arrangements for smooth and successful participation of State contingents and coordinate with the J&K State Sports Council.
