Urdu Deptt in JU organizes `Meet the writer’

JAMMU, Mar 6: The Department of Urdu in University of Jammu, today organized ‘Meet the writer’ program wherein former Secretary Cultural Academy Dr Rafiq Masoodi was the invited writer.
The program was presided over by the veteran litterateur of the State M Y Taing while the veteran poet Farooq Nazqi was the chief guest on the occasion. Prof Mazher Mahdi of JNU was the guest of honour of the program wherein Prof Shohab Inayat Malik, HOD Urdu, was also on the dais.
Dr Rafiq Massodi spoke at length about himself and informed that he was born in middle class family in Sopore Kashmir. He did his graduation from Sopore Degree College and later he did his MA, M Phil and Ph D in Hindi from JNU, New Delhi.
He described Faroq Nazqi a great broadcaster and MY Taing a great litterateur, who inspired him a lot. Prof. Namveer Singh was his guide in the Ph D in JNU and his topic of Ph D research was “The contribution of Muslim Poets to Hindi Poetry”.
